Our work together
A collaborative approach
You are not a problem to solve, and there is no one correct way to live your life. Therapy with me is not a quick fix or a rigid set of instructions. My aim is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and support changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
Therapy is a partnership. Using a primarily person-centred approach, we will work together to understand your experiences and what truly matters to you.
You may come to therapy already knowing a lot about yourself, yet still feel stuck. It is common to understand your patterns intellectually but struggle to change them. Our sessions provide a dedicated space to slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and explore new possibilities.
A trauma-informed approach
Your thoughts, feelings and behaviours often develop in response to what you have experienced. You may have developed ways of coping that no longer serve you, such as people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, perfectionism, shutting down emotionally or feeling responsible for others.
Rather than judging these responses, we will explore what purpose they once served and what changes you might need now.
The therapeutic relationship
The relationship between therapist and client is central to this work. You do not need to present a polished version of yourself here. I aim to provide a safe space where you can bring experiences that feel difficult, confusing, or uncomfortable to talk about, grounded always in honesty, respect and empathy.
What sessions may involve
Your unique needs will shape our time together. As we work together, we may:
Explore your emotions and lived experiences.
Understand your patterns in relationships.
Identify your core needs, values, and boundaries.
Develop self-compassion and gentler self-talk.
Manage and navigate difficult emotions.
