Accessible online therapy via Zoom

I offer online therapy to UK-based clients via video call using Zoom.

This approach has many benefits, including:

  • Accessibility and convenience

Video therapy removes the need to travel, making it easier to fit into a busy schedule. It’s especially helpful if you have mobility issues, live in a remote area, or if, for whatever reason, you would struggle to attend in person regularly.

  • Comfort of a familiar environment

Being in your own space can help you feel more relaxed and open during sessions. For some, home feels safer and less intimidating than a counselling setting.

  • Continuity and flexibility

Therapy via Zoom helps maintain consistent support even during illness, travel, or unforeseen events. It can also allow more flexibility in appointment times.

  • Access to more therapists

You're not limited to therapists in your immediate area — you can choose from a broader pool to find someone who matches your needs.

  • Privacy and anonymity

For some, attending from home feels more discreet than walking into a therapist’s office, particularly in small communities.

  • Easy to use

Zoom is straightforward and familiar to many. You don’t need to create an account — simply click the secure link emailed to you, and join your session from a phone, tablet, or computer.

  • Confidential and secure

Sessions are protected using Zoom’s advanced security settings, including waiting rooms and password protection. I will ensure all sessions are held privately and securely.

  • Visual and shared resources

During your session, we can use screen sharing to look at tools or worksheets together — supporting a more interactive experience when helpful.

Neurodivergence and sensory considerations

I aim to provide a supportive environment for neurodivergent clients, including the following options:

  • Sessions conducted at your pace.

  • Structured sessions with clear expectations agreed at the outset.

  • Written summaries of key session points.

  • Use of stimming and fidget items during sessions.

  • Movement during sessions.

  • Breaks during sessions.

Additional accessibility considerations

I’m happy to adjust my communication style to suit your needs. This might include:

  • Pausing to allow you time to process.

  • Using plain language (e.g. avoiding metaphors or overly academic language).

  • Regular check-ins to ensure the pace and style of counselling is right for you.

  • Facilitating self-expression through writing, drawing or movement if talking is difficult.
